We’re sure that a lot of people got Kindles for Christmas, so cheap ebooks will be all the rage for the next few weeks or months. With the sudden deluge of buyers in the market, it should be a good opportunity for self-published authors to make a few sales this holiday season. Therefore, if you have some cheap ebooks listed on one of the few ereader sites, promoting them would be a great way to capture some of this new traffic. Utilize blogs, forums, and possibly even a few advertising spots to get your message out to tons of new fans!

Of course, we’re partial to Amazon ourselves because their Kindle Direct Publishing program offers some great opportunities if you join KDP Select! You’ll have the opportunity to promote your book for free for 5 days every three months which can expose you to thousands of new readers. Best of luck in selling your cheap ebooks this holiday season!

If you are a writer, I believe you could sometimes meet writer block, especially if you want to develop fantasy story ideas. Build up an idea to write a fantasy story could be difficult because fantasy story is something out of this world. If you are creative enough, you could develop characters that never exist before. However, creating your own character could be risky, because your character is not yet popular and you do not know if people like your new character.

But if you really serious to make different in your story, you can keep continue with idea to create your own character. If success, your character could become legend, just like vampire, zombie and many other successful character or monster. However, if you currently meet writer block, you had better just copy those popular monster or character. Then you just need to develop environment and story for those characters.

Have you had your fair share of joining screenplay competitions, but never seem to have any luck with them? Well, maybe your script is simply not good enough. If you think you have the potential, though, perhaps you just need to look back and see how you have been approaching them so far. The simplest no-no would be: don’t break the rules. This involves (but is not restricted to) the screenplay length. It’s simple, really-if the contest requires 85-120 pages of script, you should try to limit your piece to that. There are some that accept more pages for an additional fee, but then again, it just shows that you can’t follow a clear rule that already gives you a wide berth. If you can say what you want to say in a concise but engaging manner, why go the extra length to make it wordier and more obscure? Remember: try to express, don’t impress.
